Schedule
In 2023, the SRX racing series made some changes. The schedule, announced on December 21, 2022, was unique, with races held on Thursday nights instead of Saturdays. This season also marked a shift, starting in July and ending in August, a departure from the previous June to July schedule.
The 2023 SRX schedule featured familiar tracks like Stafford Motor Speedway and Eldora Speedway, Tony Stewart’s dirt track. Three new tracks were introduced, including two paved tracks and Lucas Oil Speedway, a dirt track. Notably, Stafford hosted back-to-back races due to a change caused by flood damage to the original second event venue, Thunder Road International SpeedBowl in Vermont.
The schedule was strategically aligned with the NASCAR Cup Series, making it easier for Cup Series drivers to participate in SRX races on Thursdays before their weekend Cup Series races. With the aim of attracting more Cup Series drivers, each race, except the finale at Lucas Oil Speedway, was held in the same region as the corresponding Cup Series race.
